Hand of Doom Productions at Folkestone Fringe Triennial

We're taking part in Folkestone Fringe Triennial, part of Folkestone Triennial, with our Folkestone StoryMap: Your Stories project. Every week during the festival we will be releasing one of the audio stories we collected from local residents during lockdown and installing a QR code signpost at the place the story is based. We'll let you know more once this gets underway.

In the meantime, you can follow our story trail of fictional stories based in Folkestone over on our Folkestone StoryMap website. There are six stories to listen to, based in and around the Lower Leas Coastal Park (behind the beach huts in the photo above).

Folkestone Triennial and Folkestone Fringe Triennial run from July 22nd to November 2nd.

Michele publishes a book!

Hand of Doom director, Michele Sheldon has published a children's book! Called The Mystery of the Missing Fur (And far more Mysterious Mysteries) it follows Bernard’s darkly comic adventures after he rescues three Amazonian monkeys and a zoo full of animals (including two depressed tigers, warthogs, lemurs, gorillas and mandrills) from the clutches of a vain TV celebrity, a short-sighted trophy hunter and a grinder of animal bones.

Along the way, he makes friends with a giant anteater called Armando, Loki an over-fluffed cat and a human girl with an unfortunate name. Together, they solve the not-so-mysterious mystery of the missing fur and, most importantly, what happened to Bernard’s parents, famous conservationists. The book touches on themes like trophy hunting, quack medicine, poaching and loss.

That's all for now. Please feel free to share this email with any friends and family you think might be interested.
